Moody, Vazquez help Montana hold off Presbyterian 82-79 in OT at CBI

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Aanen Moody sank six 3-pointers and scored 34, Josh Vazquez added seven of his 15 points in overtime and Montana held off Presbyterian 82-79 in the CBI on Sunday.

Moody hit a 3-pointer to give the fifth-seeded Grizzlies (24-11) a 73-71 lead with 2:08 left in the extra period. Kory Mincy hit from beyond the arc as the No. 12 seed Blue Hose (14-19) regained the lead, but Vazquez hit a go-ahead 3 and with 1:20 remaining and followed with four free throws in the final 20 seconds to help Montana hold on.

Moody finished 14-for-21 shooting, including 6 for 9 from distance for Montana, which will play fourth-seeded Arkansas State in the quarterfinals on Monday. Moody added six rebounds and five assists. Vazquez shot 3 for 9 from 3-point range. Te’Jon Sawyer pitched in with 10 points and eight rebounds off the bench.

Samage Teel scored a career-high 28 points to lead Presbyterian. He made 11 of 18 shots with three 3-pointers. Reserve Jonah Pierce added 11 points and along with Teel grabbed five rebounds.

Teel had a layup for with 4 seconds remaining for the Blue Hose to send the game to overtime tied at 69.
