Maryland women eliminated from NCAA Tournament

WASHINGTON — The University of Maryland women have been eliminated from the NCAA Tournament.

Washington pulled off the upset 74-65 at College Park.

The Terrapins were shooting for their 5th-straight appearance in the Sweet 16.

They were up by five at the half, but were down by seven after three quarters and never regained the lead.

The Huskies advance to the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2001, while Maryland’s season ends with a 31-5 record, 15-2 at home.
