WASHINGTON – With Justin Bieber having a dominant hold on today’s teen-pop charts, ’90s boy band Hanson has decided to hit the bottle.
At a Monday appearance at Oxford University in London, Zac Hanson announced the group would be behind the brewing of “MMMHop”, an India Pale Ale that will hit shelves in 2012.
The beer’s name is a play on the group’s 1997 hit “MMMBop,” which has since gone double platinum and landed on many best (and worst) lists of 1990s songs.
The once-teen heartthrobs are far from the first musical act to attach their image to alcoholic beverages. Rock band Motorhead and Tool lead singer Maynard James Keenan sell wine, and a countless number of rappers endorse an assortment of spirits.
