WASHINGTON — Hogwarts fans: The first trailer for J.K. Rowling’s “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” is out.
The film, a Harry Potter prequel, looks into the American wizarding community in 1920s New York.
It’s Rowling’s first screenplay, and the film is directed by David Yates, who directed the last four Potter films.
The name of the movie is a reference to a Hogwarts textbook.
The story is about Newt Scamander, a “magizoologist,” who makes his way around the Big Apple in 1926.
Yes, there are magical creatures, a misplaced magical case and an American Ministry of Magic called the Magical Congress of the United States of America.
Eddie Redmayne stars as Scamander. The cast includes Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Dan Fogler and Colin Farrell.
