Silver Spring woman died of blunt force trauma, boyfriend faces murder charge

WASHINGTON — A Silver Spring man who called police to report that he’d killed his girlfriend has been charged with first-degree murder in her death, Montgomery County police said.

Chaunya M. Blackwell, 43, died of blunt force trauma and asphyxia, medical examiners ruled.

Blackwell was found in the Bradbury Manor Court home she shared with her boyfriend, Anthony M. Strong, who called police to report that he had killed her Tuesday morning.

Strong, 50, was being held without bond on the single charge, police said Thursday.
