UPDATE: Missing Md. woman, 11-month-old son found safe, unharmed

UPDATE 7 p.m., Feb. 6: Montgomery County police said Saturday that 24-year-old Tynisha Rashon Owens and her son, Elijah Owens have been found safe and unharmed.

WASHINGTON — Police in Montgomery County, Maryland, are asking for help finding a missing Derwood woman and her 11-month-old son.

Police say 24-year-old Tynisha Rashon Owens and her son, Elijah Owens, were last seen around 6:30 a.m. Thursday in the area of the 6600 block of Garrett Road, near Olde Mill Run, in Derwood.

Tynisha Owens is described as standing 5-feet-6-inches tall, weighing 139 pounds, with black eyes and short black hair. She was last seen wearing a navy-colored peacoat and black UGG boots. Her son, Elijah, is described as having black hair and brown eyes.

According to police, Tynisha Owens functions at a 14-year-old level. Both police and her family are concerned for the welfare of Tynisha and her son.
