Hoggle still incompetent to stand trial in children’s disappearance

ROCKVILLE, Md. — The Montgomery County woman whose children went missing in September remains incompetent to stand trial.

Catherine Hoggle appeared in Montgomery County District Courtroom Friday morning wearing light blue pants and a matching shirt.

She stood silent as it was stated she continues to be incompetent to stand trial. However, those evaluating her say she could improve to a point where she could stand trial.

Hoggle is charged with child neglect in the disappearance of her two young children, Sarah and Jacob, back in September.

Search crews have got out on several occasions to find the children, but have come up unsuccessful each time.

Prosecutors have said they could pursue homicide charges.

Hoggle is expected to be back in a Rockville courtroom in September.

The children’s family plans to resume weekly searches for them every Saturday starting at 9 a.m. Volunteers are asked to meet at the Germantown Community Center.
