WASHINGTON – A candidate for the next superintendent of Montgomery County Public Schools has withdrawn from the search.
Montgomery County Board of Education President Patricia B. O’Neill released a statement Sunday, saying Dr. Andrew Houlihan had withdrawn himself from consideration.
“The Board appreciates Dr. Houlihan’s interest in the position and wishes him the best of luck in the future. The Board will continue to focus on a search for the next superintendent of schools,” O’Neill said in the statement.
Public forums were held in March to allow community members to take part in the search for a new superintendent.
