2nd man arrested in fatal Montgomery Co. shooting

WASHINGTON — Police in Montgomery County, Maryland, have arrested a second man in an April 29 Germantown fatal shooting that also wounded three.

Furl John Williams, 24, of Fort Washington has been charged with the killing of Amaru Amir Santos Johnson. Police believe he may be responsible for a recent series of violent crimes.

Earlier, police have also arrested Eric Lee, 23, of Clarksburg and charged him in the Germantown fatal shooting.

The shooting that killed the 19-year-old in the 12800 block of Kitchen House Way followed a robbery, police said.

And four days after the Germantown shooting, Prince George’s County police said Williams shot and killed Wayne Pope, 27, of Suitland and stole his car at a Suitland gas station.

While Montgomery County detectives were investigating the Germantown shooting, they found an abandoned car nearby and identified it as a car taken in an armed hijacking April 17 in Prince George’s County. Williams’ fingerprints were found inside the vehicle, police said.

Williams is being held without bond in Montgomery County.
