WASHINGTON — A motorcycle driver is dead after a crash involving his cycle and two cars Sunday night in St. Mary’s County.
George Alvey, Jr., 55, of Hollywood, Maryland died after his motorcycle struck a stopped car in the median of Three Notch Road in Hollywood. It happened just before 9 p.m. as Alvey was going south and the car was trying to turn left to go north.
The crash knocked Alvey off his cycle, which ended up hitting another car as it slid down the road, the St. Mary’s County Maryland Sheriff’s Office says.
The sheriff’s office says the motorcycle’s speed is believed to be a factor in the crash.
Alvey was pronounced dead at the scene.
