WASHINGTON — A driver for Uber has been arrested and charged for sexually assaulting a passenger in Loudoun County.

Kal Y. Hartemarian, 44-years-old of Sterling, Virginia, was arrested on Jan. 4 and charged with aggravated sexual battery and forcible sodomy. The charges stems from an investigation into an assault on Dec. 27, 2017.

An adult female reported to police she was assaulted by the driver of an Uber after she was picked up in Herndon, Virginia, around 1:30 a.m. The victim said she had been drinking with friends and used Uber to get a ride back to her home in the Sterling area.

The victim said as they were traveling in the area of Rutherford Circle, the driver stopped the vehicle and got into the back seat, where he assaulted her. The assault was reported to police later that same day.
