A woman was walking on a path in the area of Eastgate View Drive around 12:15 p.m. Monday when an unknown man approached her on a bike path near the area of Tall Cedars Parkway and Edgewater Street and grabbed her backside, the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office said. The woman told officials she screamed and the suspect fled the area, running south on Edgewater Street.

Officials canvassed the area, but didn’t find the suspect.

He is described as a black man in his early 20s and around 6 feet tall with a thin build. Of note were the suspect’s “perfectly aligned yellow teeth,” dark gums and a black mole under his eye, the sheriff’s office said. He wore a red hooded sweatshirt with the hood up to partially obscure his face as well as black shorts and black crew-length socks.

The sheriff’s office said the suspect was driving a silver Honda.

Anyone who has any information about the suspect’s identity can call the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Special Victim’s Unit at 703-777-0475.

Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office will have an increased presence in the area following the incident. Officials are reminding residents to take steps to protect themselves when using paths and trails, too, including staying alert, traveling with a partner, letting someone else know where you are and when you plan to return.
