Loudoun Co. man killed in motorcycle crash

WASHINGTON — A motorcyclist from Loudoun County, Virginia  has died after his bike veered off the road and struck a guardrail, according to police.

Police said the crash happened at 5:45 p.m. Saturday on U.S. Route 58 in Washington County, Virginia, near Va. Route 890.

Ramakrishna Guttikonda, 45, of Stone Ridge, was thrown from the bike and was taken to Bristol Regional Medical Center, where he died Sunday from his injuries, police said.

Guttikonda was traveling west on U.S. Route 58 but crossed the center line, ran off the road and struck a guardrail. Police said he was wearing a helmet at the time.

Police said alcohol was not a factor in the crash but said the cause remained under investigation.
