Watch: NBC Washington pays tribute to Jim Vance

NBC Washington anchor Jim Vance died at age 75. As the region’s longest-serving television news anchor, according to The Washington Post, Vance spent three years as a reporter before taking the helm as weekend anchor in 1970 and becoming co-anchor of NBC Washington’s daily newscasts in 1972.

WASHINGTON — NBC Washington paid tribute to its longtime anchor Jim Vance, who died last Saturday.

In this video, the network gathered clips of some of Vance’s most memorable moments during his more than 45 years on the air and spoke with people who discussed what Vance meant to them.
