Power outages reported

WASHINGTON – While temperatures rose quickly, melting icy areas around the D.C. region, ice did bring down trees and tree limbs and cause power outages.

POWER OUTAGES:

At 6 p.m., Dominion Virginia Power had more than 60 outages in Northern Virginia, with a majority of them in Alexandria.

Pepco is reporting fewer than 5 outages in the D.C. area.

BGE reports fewer than 5 customers without power in Anne Arundel County.

CLOSINGS AND DELAYS:

Most schools in the immediate metro area, except D.C. Public Schools, were closed Tuesday.

Federal offices were on a three-hour delayed arrival with the option of unscheduled leave or telework.

WEATHER:

A flood warning is in effect for D.C., as well as Prince George’s County, central Anne Arundel County, eastern Howard County and southeastern Montgomery County in effect until 2 p.m.

A flood watch is in effect for the entire area Tuesday from 6 a.m. until 11 p.m.

Temperatures will fall back near freezing Wednesday morning.
