WASHINGTON — The Glenmont Metro station reopened late Monday night after firefighters were called to the station to investigate a report of an electrical fire.

The Metro station was evacuated around 8 p.m. due to smoke coming from an unknown source. Fire crews began clearing the scene around 9:35 p.m. Pete Piringer with Montgomery County Fire and Rescue said via Twitter that firefighters had been checking the tunnel for fire.
Officials have not yet said what was causing the smoke. No injuries were reported.
Bus shuttles were running between Glenmont and Forest Glen, but the service was cancelled around 9:45 p.m.
