WASHINGTON — Plans to bring food or magazine kiosks or vending machines to Metro stations will undergo more review.
Metro Finance Committee board members on Thursday expressed concern that selling food at stations where people are not allowed to eat or drink could be hypocritical and could contribute to trash or rodent problems.
One version of the plan called for about a dozen stations to get some kind of food and drink sales. It was estimated those sales could bring in about $1 million for the transit agency.
