Two people rescued on the Potomac River

WASHINGTON — Two people were rescued Wednesday night on the Potomac River.

Montgomery County Fire and U.S. Park Police responded to reports of two people stranded on rocks around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday just north of Old Anglers Inn and south of Great Falls.

The stranded people were spotted by a Park Police helicopter and then rescued by Montgomery County fire boats without any injuries.

The two were ticketed for being at the park after dark.
