Metro trains delayed after theft, stabbing

WASHINGTON — An investigation into a possible stabbing caused delays on Metro’s Orange, Blue and Silver lines Wednesday afternoon.

Metro police say a 19-year-old man grabbed someone’s phone at the L’Enfant Metro Station around 3:30 p.m. and boarded an Orange Line train toward New Carrollton. While the suspect was on the train, a man tried to intervene and his hand was punctured.

The suspect was arrested at Federal Center SW.  Two trains were held and were out of service, causing delays during the early part of the evening rush hour.
