Join an eggcentric Easter Egg Hunt
Many communities organize their own Easter egg hunts, but not all hunts are the same. The Greenbelt Aquatic and Fitness Center in Maryland puts on an underwater egg hunt for kids and their families. And in Takoma Park, Maryland, join the “ Zero Waste” Easter Egg Hunt , which features activities focused on how to reduce waste.

Smell the roses (and orchids and more)

The National Arboretum hosts spring azalea tours April 19, 24, 26 and 29; and the Kenilworth Park & Aquatic Gardens holds Ranger-led programs every weekend, including bird and garden walks.

Raise a glass
When the Nats are away, beer fans come out to play. April 20 is the DC Beer Festival at Nationals Park, featuring 80 breweries and food trucks. If you’re looking for something more low-key and family friendly, D.C.’s Atlas Brew Works will host an Easter-themed party Sunday afternoon (April 21) in its tap room. There will be arcade games for the kids, as well as a visit from the Easter bunny.
