WASHINGTON — A wise woman once intoned: Baby, credit cards aren’t romance.

A memorable night out with your main squeeze doesn’t have to break the bank. With Valentine’s right around the corner, Destination DC, the city’s official tourism promoter, is highlighting budget-friendly date-night deals — from luxurious staycation packages at top D.C. hotels, discounted tours and deals on flowers and baby sitters.

The Date Nights DC Deals website lists 50 deals for this month. Among the bargains highlighted are:

  • A “Romantic getaway” at the Trump International Hotel, which features a “sensual escape to The Spa by Ivanka Trump.”
  • A “Device-free” stay at the Mandarin Oriental, complete with spa treatment, dining at the Empress Lounge and a suite with a view of the Jefferson Memorial
  • A “Double agent” date package at the International Spy Musuem, which comes with access to a “covert ‘Sexpionage’ scavenger” and a $25 voucher to the gift shop.
  • Rooftop skating at the Watergate Hotel, which offers “unparalleled 360-degree views of D.C. and the Potomac.”

The “Date Nights DC” website also lists “luxe” date ideas, “can’t-fail first date” ideas and other suggestions.
