Hurricane Delta made landfall in Louisiana as a Category 2 storm Friday, after battering the Yucatan Peninsula earlier in the week. The center of the hurricane made landfall about 6 p.m. near the town of Creole with top winds of 100 mph, though it rapidly grew weaker.
The areas in the storm’s path are still reeling from the aftermath of Hurricane Laura, which hit the gulf coast as a Category 4 storm in late August.
