PHOTOS: Dan Snyder’s tumultuous years as Washington football team owner

The Washington Commanders have a new owner after two-plus decades under Dan Snyder. Since Snyder purchased the franchise in 1999, the team has been plagued by scandal off the field and disappointing performances on the field.

The team notched just five winning seasons and one playoff victory during Snyder’s ownership. Washington currently has the fourth-longest active playoff win drought in the NFL, with its last postseason victory coming in 2005.

Will a new owner bring brighter days for Commanders fans? That remains to be seen.
