PHOTOS: 2019 MTV Video Music Awards

This year’s MTV Video Music Awards took place Monday night in New Jersey for the first time. Performers who took to the stage included Taylor Swift, Lil Nas X, Normani and more.

The Video Vanguard Award went to rap icon Missy Elliott, who became the first female rapper inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame earlier this year.
