PHOTOS: 80th Golden Globe Awards back on NBC

A years after NBC decided to not broadcast the Golden Globes, the awards ceremony was back on the network Tuesday night.

Last year the network pulled the plug on the telecast due to a lack of diversity within the voting membership of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, which the L.A. Times exposed for not having a single Black voter in its 87 members from over 40 countries.

The association announced new members of color, but many in the film industry remain skeptical of its sudden “change of heart.”

The show did go on, and Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made an appearance and had a message for those watching.

“There will be no third World War,” Zelenskyy said in a taped message, predicting Russia’s defeat. “It is not a trilogy.”

As for celebrities bring home a Golden Globe, some of the winners included:

Cate Blanchett for best actress in a motion picture, drama
Austin Butler for best actor in a motion picture, drama
Michelle Yeoh for best actress in a motion picture, musical/comedy
Colin Farrell for best actor in a motion picture, musical/comedy
Angela Bassett, for best supporting actress in a motion picture
Ke Huy Quan for best supporting actor in a motion picture
