WASHINGTON — The body of a 19-year-old was found in Frederick County over the weekend, and police are searching for details about what led to his death.
The body of Gennady Errigo, a 19-year-old from Walkersvillle, Maryland, was found along the wood line of a farm located in the 9300 block of Liberty Road in Frederick, Maryland, on Sunday.
His body was discovered by two hunters who immediately called police to report the crime, police said.
The Maryland State Police Homicide Unit is leading the investigation into Errigo’s death.
“This started out as a death investigation and now everything is pointing toward it being a potential homicide,” said Maryland State Police spokeswoman Elena Russo.
Details about what caused Errigo’s death are not yet available, Russo said.
Police are asking anyone who may have had contact with Errigo between Thursday evening and noon Sunday to contact police at the Frederick Barrack at 301-600-4150. Calls may remain confidential, police said.
At this point, there are no suspects nor motives in the case, Russo said.
