WASHINGTON — A fight led to a fatal stabbing in Fairfax County Thursday night, police said.

Around 8:30 p.m., 24-year-old Justin Underwood was inside a townhome in the 14600 block of Stone Crossing Court in Centreville when he and a resident of the townhome got into a fight. That’s when the resident stabbed Underwood, according to police.

The two men knew eachother before the fight, police added.

The 24-year-old sustained upper body trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene, Fairfax County police said.

The resident, whose name has not yet been released, was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Detectives are working with the Office of the Commonwealth Attorney to determine if charges will be placed.
