WASHINGTON — A Fairfax County police officer entered a plea Wednesday after an investigation found he was speeding and drove without lights and sirens when he crashed into a van in Falls Church, Virginia, in February.
On Wednesday, Officer Pshko Siteki pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor reckless driving charge from an incident on Feb. 18, 2017. The judge fined Siteki $250.
Siteki was responding to a disorderly conduct call around 10:30 a.m. when he crashed into a minivan near the intersection of Leesburg Pike and Patrick Henry Drive. At the time of the crash, Siteki didn’t have his lights or siren on and was going 68 mph in a 40 mph zone, police said.
The crash injured the driver of the minivan as well as Siteki.
Fairfax County police Chief Ed Roessler has placed Siteki on restricted duty without police powers pending the outcome of the ongoing administrative investigation.
“I will make a determination regarding the officer’s future with the department when the administrative investigation is complete,” Roessler said Wednesday.
