A 15-year-old girl disclosed to a case worker in August that 18-year-old Ronald Fabricio Herrera Contreras raped her in a wooded area in July 2016.

The victim, who speaks no English, said Contreras was a friend of a family member and would occasionally stop by the house. A known gang member, Contreras began to verbally threatened the victim, she said.

Eventually, Contreras visited the home every day to “check” on the victim and said he would kill her if she called police.

On July 13, the victim said she was ordered to leave the house and walk with Contreras until they arrived at wooded area in a park in the 7300 block of Lee Highway. It was there that Contreras dragged her into the woods, raped her and then left her there, she told Fairfax County police.

Since the crime, police say Contreras has been in hiding, attempting to avoid apprehension. He is believed to still be in the United States, police said.

Police have been conducting interviews and monitoring social media accounts to locate the 18-year-old.

Contreras is about 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighs about 145 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. Anyone with information about his whereabouts can contact police at 703-246-7800.
