Man sought in attempted abduction in Fairfax Co.

WASHINGTON — Fairfax County police officers need help identifying a man they think is responsible for an attempted abduction that occurred Aug. 27.

That morning, a 47-year-old woman was grabbed as she walked near the Pinewood South Apartments. The man tried to drag her to a vehicle. The woman resisted and got help from a person driving by.

The man fled in a silver-colored four-door sedan. The woman did not require medical attention.

The man is described as black, in his late 20s to early 30s, and about 6 feet tall with a thin build and medium-length black hair.

According to police, he was wearing a black t-shirt, gray pants and sneakers. Detectives also want to speak with the passerby who helped the woman.
