Police investigate attempted abduction in Oak Hill area

WASHINGTON — Fairfax County police are investigating the attempted abduction of a 20-year-old woman waiting for a bus in the Oak Hill section of the county.

The woman told police that as she waited for the bus in the area of Lawyers Road and Glenbrooke Woods Drive on Thursday afternoon, a man in a pickup got out of his truck, tried to talk to her and then tried to force her into the vehicle.

Police say the victim broke free, and the suspect took off in the older model truck with a ladder rack. No one was hurt.

The man is described as Hispanic, 40 to 50, with straight black hair. He wore a green sweatshirt with a white T-shirt underneath and tan-colored pants.
