New Fairfax Connector routes debut Saturday

WASHINGTON —  The Fairfax Connector is debuting new routes on Saturday. The 31 service changes go into effect today to reduce crowding and serve new development in the Merrifield and Springfield areas — particularly at the new Springfield Town Center.  More weekday trips will go into effect between Fair Oak and Reston. Most routes will see a schedule adjustment to serve the new Silver Line Metro stations.

There will be public hearings next week to discuss more significant Fairfax Connector changes, including those to Express Lane routes, and routes in Reston, Herndon and the Tysons circulator.  Those changes, which are expected to happen this spring, will help keep buses running on time and provide more direct routes.

There are public meetings on Wednesday night in Reston and Thursday night in Vienna. More information below.
