WASHINGTON — It’s a caffeinated dream come true for “Gilmore Girls” fans.
This Wednesday, Oct. 5, you can grab coffee just like Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and Rory (Alexis Bledel) in Stars Hollow, Connecticut — only this time it’s right here in the Washington, D.C. area.
DC Eater reports Netflix is converting roughly 250 cafes into the show’s fictional Luke’s Diner.
The event is timed with the 16th anniversary of the series pilot, which aired on Oct. 5, 2000.
In the nation’s capital, the five pop-up locations are:
- Bump ‘n Grind at 1200 East-West Hwy. in Silver Spring, MD
- Grounded Coffee Shop at 6919 Telegraph Rd. in Alexandria, VA
- Flying Fish Coffee & Tea at 3064 Mt Pleasant St. NW, D.C.
- Qualia Coffee at 3917 Georgia Ave. NW, D.C.
- Three Fifty Bakery and Coffee Bar at 1926 17th St. NW, D.C.
Netflix will reportedly pay for 250 12-ounce cups of coffee for fans from 7 a.m. to noon.
There will also be aprons, T-shirts and other “Gilmore Girls” memorabilia on hand.
It’s all to celebrate the Nov. 25 release of “Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life,” a four-episode revival of the hit TV series on the WB and CW networks. The new revival will stream on Netflix, which also recently revived “Full House” in “Fuller House,” proving fans of these sitcoms just can’t get enough.
