What to do without Screen on the Green? 2016 outdoor movies

Screen on the Green
Introduction This week, D.C. moviegoers were shocked by the news that HBO and Comcast are discontinuing “Screen on the Green,” bringing an abrupt end to a 17-year summer tradition on the National Mall. “HBO is very proud of our 17 years of Screen on the Green on the Mall,” HBO said in a statement. “Unfortunately, this year we have decided to move on and place our resources elsewhere.” Jesse Rauch, president of Friends of Screen on the Green, joined WTOP to explain (listen below). But keep your chins up, moviegoers. We’ll all get through this summer together. There are still plenty of places to watch outdoor movies in the D.C. area. “The children of Screen on the Green will continue on in our neighborhoods,” Rauch said.
