WASHINGTON — Police are looking to identify three men suspecting of burglary in Southeast D.C. on Tuesday night.

Police said the burglary happened around 7:40 p.m. Tuesday in an apartment in the 2100 block of 15th Street in Southeast.

The men forced their way into the apartment and demanded money from Jaamilla Yates, who told them she didn’t have the money, according to a police report. That’s when the suspects assaulted another victim in the apartment and took Yates against her will, police said.

Police had initially labelled the incident a kidnapping. Yates was located Wednesday and D.C. police said she was in “good condition.” She willingly left the incident, police said.

The first suspect is described as a black man, in his 30s, 5 feet 7 inches tall, of medium build with a mustache and beard. He was wearing a black hat, dark shirt and pants and wearing a red jacket with a logo on the left chest.

The second person of interest is described as a black man, with the nickname “Butch.” He is in his 30s, 5 feet 7 inches tall, of slim build, with a mustache and a goatee. He was wearing a black/white hat, a gray hooded shirt and a greenish colored coat with fur around the hood.

The third person of interest is described as a black man, in his 30s, also 5 feet 7 inches tall, of medium build, with a beard. He was wearing a black hat, black pants, white tennis shoes and a red jacket.

Police are warning anyone who sees the men to use extreme caution if approaching them and to contact Detective B. Baylor at 202-497-4644 or Sergeant M. Hines at 202-437-5741.
