WASHINGTON — A delivery man was injured Saturday after being struck by a car and getting trapped between the vehicle and his truck in Northwest D.C.
The man was likely stepping out of the back of the truck to make a delivery when he was hit by the car, D.C. Fire and EMS said. The car went partially underneath the back of the truck, pinning the man’s legs between the two vehicles.
The incident occurred on the 2600 block of Virginia Avenue around 8 a.m., officials said.
They added that they used “special techniques,” including air bags and cribbing, to lift the truck and rescue the man, who was transported to a local hospital with critical injuries.
