DC police officer fired after charges of paying teen for sex, robbery

WASHINGTON — A D.C. police officer was fired Friday after a string of charges he paid a 15-year-old girl for sex, then took back the money at gunpoint.

D.C. police said Friday that 27-year-old Chukwuemeka Ekwonna was terminated as an officer on the force after his arrest by Anne Arundel County police Thursday.

Court documents show a 15-year-old recently told officials that she was robbed by a man on Jan. 9 she met through social media and offered her $80 for sex. After they had sex, the teen told officials the man, later identified as Ekwonna, pointed a gun at her and demanded his money back.

Anne Arundel County police said Ekwonna of Glenn Dale has been charged with armed robbery, assault, third-degree sex offense, reckless endangerment, prostitution and a weapon offense.
