Police: Man enters NW DC home, sexually assaults woman

WASHINGTON — Police are searching for a man who entered a woman’s home and sexually assaulted her Friday night in Northwest D.C.

The suspect entered the woman’s home in the 2300 block of California Street NW at around 10:30 p.m. on Friday, March 3, police said in a news release. There was no sign of forced entry, according to the police report, and the woman was not sure how the man got inside.

The man bound the woman’s hands and blindfolded her before raping her, the police report said. The man also robbed her of some of her items.

Police described the incident as first-degree sexual abuse and said it was a burglary one offense.

Other than his gender, no further description of the man was available.
