WASHINGTON — With marching bands, pompom girls, fire trucks, quiet observers and cheering crowds, the mood was festive and contemplative at D.C.’s 11th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Parade on Monday.

As the nation pays homage to the life and legacy of civil rights icon Martin Luther King Jr., WTOP’s Kristi King captured these scenes in Southeast.
