WASHINGTON — A construction worker fell five stories from scaffolding in Northwest D.C. Wednesday evening, causing traffic delays in the area.

Around 5 p.m., a construction worker fell at a site in the 4000 block of Georgia Avenue near the intersection with Emerson Street. The worker fell five stories into a hole below ground level, said Doug Buchanan with D.C. Fire/EMS.
