WASHINGTON — A Postal Service mail carrier was assaulted and robbed by two men Saturday night after he had finished a delivery and was returning to his postal vehicle in Northeast D.C.
The mail carrier was approached by the two men in the 2300 block of 2nd Street Northeast when one of them pointed a gun at the carrier’s head and made him lie down on the ground, said Frank J. Schissler from the U.S. Postal Inspection Service in an email.
The suspects assaulted the man, pistol whipping him, and stole his personal items including his mail satchel, phone, shoes and a wallet with $10 inside, NBC Washington reported.
The suspects were wearing black masks and dressed in all black, Schissler said.
