Early morning shooting leaves 1 dead, 1 critical in DC

WASHINGTON — One man is dead and another is in critical condition after shots were fired early Saturday morning in Northwest D.C., police said.

Officers found two adult males with gunshot wounds when responding to a call at 2:13 a.m. Saturday in the 600 block of Kennedy Street NW, according to a news release from the Metropolitan Police Department.

One of the men, identified as 36-year-old Saul Flores of Northeast D.C., was determined to be dead on the scene, police said.

The other man, who was not identified, was moved to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries, the release said. He was listed in critical condition Saturday morning.

The Metropolitan Police Department asks that anyone with information about this case call 202-727-9099. They are offering a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone with information leading to an arrest and conviction.
