WASHINGTON — Long lines filled sidewalks along Massachusetts Avenue Northwest, where residents and visitors waited to visit more than 40 embassies during the Around the World Embassy Tour event in D.C. on Saturday.

Nice weather encouraged more visitors to go on a walking tour through Embassy Row, going on a world tour within the District’s boundaries. Thousands of attendees had the chance to experience a wide range of music, food and art displays as they navigated the halls of each open embassy.

Most of the embassies that participated this week represented nations in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean and South America.

The embassies of European nations will be featured next weekend.
