Man dies after stabbing in Northwest D.C.

WASHINGTON — A 24-year-old man is dead after he was stabbed in Northwest D.C. early Friday morning.

D.C. police responded to the 200 block of K Street in Northwest at about 1:10 a.m. Friday for reports of a stabbing. When they arrived, they found two men suffering from apparent stab wounds.

Emergency crews transported both victims to an area hospital. One of the men — 24-year-old Joel David Midgett — later died from his injuries.

The second victim, whose name has not been released, was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are seeking any information about the stabbing and are offering a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible.
