WASHINGTON — Police are seeking a person of interest in connection with the stray-gunfire death of an American University graduate. Investigators say 19-year-old Andre Dudley is also wanted for second-degree burglary.
Matthew Shlonsky, 23, of Northeast D.C. was struck by a stray bullet on Aug. 15 in D.C.’s Shaw neighborhood. Dudley, who police say should be considered armed and dangerous, is being sought as a person of interest in the investigation.
Another man wanted in connection with Shlonsky’s shooting, 19-year-old Marcus King, turned himself in to police on Aug. 21. An arrest warrant charges King with second-degree murder while armed.
Police say Dudley also faces charges in connection to a burglary on Aug. 12 in the 4200 block of Argyle Terrace, Northeast.
Members of the public are advised to contact police immediately if they see Dudley. Anyone with information about the investigation should call 202-727-9099 or submit a text by text messaging 50411.
