Metro restores service at Anacostia station

WASHINGTON — Metro service has been restored at the Anacostia Metro station Thursday afternoon after smoke was spotted on the platform.

Smoke was seen in the station at about 4 p.m. Metro Transit Police say it was coming from a mechanical room at the end of the platform.

Metro evacuated the station and trains were skipping the Green Line station. Service was restored to the Anacostia Metro station about 30 minutes later at 4:30 p.m.
