Habit Burger Grill opens first Prince George’s County location

WASHINGTON — Habit Burger, which got its start as a beach shack in Santa Barbara, California in 1969, will open its first location in Prince George’s County on July 11.

It will be at the Riverdale Station Center at 4502 Van Buren Street.

It will also hold a pre-opening fundraiser on July 8 with 100 percent of sales going to the Riverdale Park Volunteer Fire Department’s effort to buy a new ambulance.

Habit Burger has expansion plans for the D.C. area and now has locations in Waldorf, Gaithersburg, Rockville and Ashburn.

A sixth location will open in Chantilly this fall.

The 2,400-square-foot Riverdale Station Center location seats 53 inside and 28 on its patio. It will be open seven days a week from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.

In addition to chargrilled burgers, Habit Burger’s menu includes salads, grilled sandwiches including line caught, sushi-grade ahi tuna, chicken, marinated sirloin steak, and sides that include onion rings, sweet potato fries and tempura green beans.

Consumer Reports has ranked Habit Burger, which makes its burgers on stainless steel char-broilers with cast-iron grills, among the best-tasting burgers in the country.

The company, which went public in 2014, has more than 200 locations nationwide.
