New Cambria Hotel breaks ground in Ocean City

WASHINGTON — Ocean City can always use more hotel rooms, and it’s getting another option next year.

Rockville-based Choice Hotels International broke ground this week on the Cambria Hotel Ocean City at 309 N. First St.

The 133-room hotel is expected to open in summer 2019.

All rooms have private balconies overlooking the Isle of Wight Bay. The hotel will also have an indoor/outdoor infinity pool, poolside cabanas, a tiki bar, outdoor fire pits, 2,200 square feet of meeting space, a business center and a rooftop bar and restaurant with views of Assateague Island, Isle of Wight Bay and the Atlantic Ocean.

The hotel is a short walk from the beach and Ocean City’s famed boardwalk.

Choice’s development partner for the Cambira Hotel Ocean City is PiNNacle Hospitality, an owner and developer of hotels primarily in the coastal region of Maryland, Virginia and Delaware.
