Cleveland Park gets a Cold Stone Creamery, Target

WASHINGTON — Scottsdale, Arizona-based Cold Stone Creamery will open its eighth Washington-area location this summer in D.C.’s Cleveland Park neighborhood.

The ice cream chain has signed a lease for 1,400 square feet at Sam’s Park & Shop shopping center at 3503 Connecticut Ave. NW. It will replace Secolari Olive Oil at the property, owned by Rockville-based Federal Realty.

The Cleveland Park Cold Stone Creamery will also include a Planet Smoothie bar inside the store, with fruit smoothies and “nutrition-oriented” add-ins.

Sam’s Park & Shop is also getting a small urban-format Target store this summer.

It will occupy about 23,000 square feet on the lower level of the shopping center, though its entrance will be at street level off the parking lot.

Sam’s Park & Shop is directly adjacent to the Cleveland Park Metro entrance.

Stone Cold Creamery, famous for customizing ice creams with mix-ins on a frozen granite stone, has about 1,500 locations in 28 countries.

Newmark Knight Frank’s Glenn E. Ulick and Jeffrey Fantle represented Cold Stone Creamery in the lease.
