The Bike Lane to offer bicycle repairs at your location

WASHINGTON — Springfield, Virginia-based The Bike Lane, with bicycle sales and repair stores in Reston and Springfield, is taking bike repair on the road through a franchise relationship with San Francisco-based Beeline Bikes.

It is the first East Coast location for Beeline Bikes.

Todd and Anne Mader, who opened their first The Bike Lane store in Springfield 17 years ago, opened their second full-service bike retail shop in Reston seven years later.

Beeline Bikes sets up its franchise operators with fully stocked mobile bike repair shops that travel to the customer at the location, day and time of his or her choosing. Through the Maders, it will operate under the name Beeline Bikes Northern Virginia Powered by The Bike Lane.

It plans to provide its mobile bike repair service throughout Reston, Ashburn, Tysons Corner and Herndon starting later this month.

“We have been serving cyclists in this area for almost two decades and know that they lead busy, active lives and are very tech-savvy,” said Todd Mader.

“With Beeline’s unique ‘We Come to You’ service, we will now be able to meet their needs in their homes or at work, in addition to our brick-and-mortar business.”

Mader said they plan to launch a fleet of five Beeline Bikes trucks over the next five years.
